The Blue Unicorns Journey to Osm by Sybrina Durant is a fantasy story intended for reader age 12 to 18. The story revolves around a blue unicorn that is destined to save his tribe but he himself has neither metal horn nor magic. The story is mostly about his journey fulfilling his prophecy, saving his tribe from Magh.

The story moves forward very quickly and I like that, the author obviously doesnt waste any time in getting to the point and for Blue to start his journey. The fantasy world that the author created is believable and I like that the author describes MarBryn very thoroughly. The illustration in the book also helps the reader to imagine how the scene portrays and most of the illustrations actually shows what is going to happen in the chapter which I really like. It is kind of a teaser and you cant stop reading once you see the illustrations of the next chapter because you will be wondering what it means.

At some point, the book gets too cramped with too many characters but once you get the hang of it, the characters involvement flows much better.

I would say that this book is very good for the young teenagers as it has a lot of good moral values in it. On the other hand, the book itself is just simply amazing with the fascinating storyline and quick-witted characters.

Journey to Osm is a beautifully written tale of a herd of unicorns waiting on their prophesied savior to be born. He will be the one with the horn and the magic to save them all from the evil who wishes to destroy them all and enslave the world. The author builds such a beautiful world in this story. We meet unicorns, pendragons, two-leggeds (humans) and other strange creatures. This story tells the reader about young Blue who is made to not feel as if he belongs simply because his horn is not metal when he is born. "No metal. No magic." You will feel the sadness that he feels as he seeks to hide from the herd and learn the extent of loss that they have all suffered at the hands of an evil man who seeks more and more power.

The story flows so well and kept me engaged the entire time. I kept turning page after page to learn what was going to happen next. There are moments of where I am annoyed or disappointed with certain characters, but for me, it helps make them even more "real" or at least relatable as believable characters. I love the romance that the author throws into the story. You see it coming when you learn of Blue's stable-mate and how they came to be so close. It's heartbreaking but beautiful at the same time.

There is nothing that I don't like about this story. The author never becomes too focused on one particular part. The story flows well and keeps the reader engaged from beginning to end. I love the twists and surprises that the author throws into the story. It's a wonderful story to read.

If you are a fantasy lover this is a book to pick up. If you love stories about unicorns then this is a book to grab. I'm sure that you will enjoy.

Let me begin by thanking Netgalley and Sybrina Durant for sending me the Arc of this captivating fantasy story. I literally read this book in a night! The story begins in tye land of MarBryn with the birth of Blue our main character, a frail and unique unicorn. His birth was foretold by the Orcle, that Blue would rid the Unicorns of the evil Magh that hunts them. But unlike the rest of the Unicorns with horns made of different types of metal which gave them all individual powers, Blue’s was merely made of hide,not metal so possessed no magical powers. Fast forward twenty years Blue is a loner, belittled by most of the tribe. His horn didn’t possess even a drop of magic no matter how hard he tried nothing would happen, this is when the plot starts to thicken. I really enjoyed Sybrina’s world building throughout the story, it painted a picture in your mind how beautiful Marbryn used to be before the wars. Her writting style is nothing short of whimsical. Sybrina’s character’s were well rounded, all of them leaving a lasting impression. The story itself was a bit of a slow burn to begin with but I think it had to be to build up the plot, emotions were portrayed perfectly throughout. Personally reading this book I think it has similarities to The Last Unicorn by Peter S Beagal but it also has a unique flare. I think anyone that’s a fan of fantasy and adventure would enjoy this. I give this book a 4. 5 star rating. I'd happily read more books by Sybrina Durant.

Journey to Osm: The Blue Unicorn’s Tale is an exciting fantasy about a small herd of unicorns who are facing extinction due to the machinations of an evil Sorcerer. Magh is determined to steal the horns and hooves of all unicorns in order to possess their magic. Their only hope for survival lies in the prophesy that foretells of a blue unicorn who will rescue them. Unfortunately for the Metal-Horned Unicorns, the blue foal is born without a metal horn or metal hooves, which means he has no magic. Blue grows up as an outsider, scoffed by his fellow unicorns but determined to someday prove himself. When that time comes, he sets off on a journey of Tolkien proportions, full of challenges and dangers that must be met, or his herd will be doomed.

This story was full of unique magics and harrowing heroism that is sure to warm to the hearts of young readers and even those of us with a few more miles behind us. If you like YA fantasy, you will definitely enjoy Journey to Osm.

This was a magical tale. The author was able to transport me to a new realm and I fell in love. There is a great deal of detail in this story that fully let's you imagine this other world vividly in your mind. I often felt like I was watching a movie while I was reading. I also loved the underdog tones throughout the book. Everyone wants to rally behind a hero that nobody believes in and thinks will fail. I often found myself reading late into the night, just to see what would unfold next and how everything was going to play out. In the end I was very satisfied and thrilled to have read the story. I feel the author did a marvelous job with character development and storyline. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Journey to Osm: The Blue Unicorn's Tale by Sybrina Durant is a magical fantasy story that is well written. The plot of the story begins when Miral gives birth to a unicorn with neither metal nor magic. Not only that, the baby unicorn is small and weak. This is after Alumna, the oracle, had received a vision that the baby unicorn would grow to be strong. What then, given his current stature, was he going to do if confronted with the worst Magh army?

I loved how the author built her characters and scenes gradually, pulling me in with each page. Also, the story is quite thrilling. It kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time. I can definitely see this being turned into a movie. That you Sybrina Durant for such a great read!

Sybrina Durant has brought to life in the pages of her story The Blue Unicorn's Journey To Osm Illustrated a combination of fantasy and mythology. When Blue is born there is a prophesy spoken over him. One that foretells the saving of the tribe of unicorns. I also loved the illustrations throughout the story. Will Ghel help Blue realize his worth to the tribe? Can Girasol the firebird help find the way through the Muzika Woods. The answer to these questions and more about the unicorn tribe will be found by reading this well written story.

'I had to learn to believe in myself.'

What a lovely line to end the narrative - but this is deeply representative of the trials we all face - in any situation.
I loved this story of Blue - saviour of the unicorns - but without metal or magic - or any belief in himself - the task he is destined to undertake since birth, seems hopeless.

This is a lovely tale of triumph over adversity, of the not so perfect stallion finding his courage in a sea of hostility.
It is written so beautifully, with exquisite drops of brilliance that you find in all classic fantasy fairytales, I can really see this as a Pixar animation.

This fantasy adventure of Blue the Unicorn and the Metal Horn tribe. Is one that will be a fine read for anyone of any age. When Alumina the Oracle brings the prophecy that Blue will be the savior of the Metal tribe and lead them to their ancestors home. Will Blue be the one to accomplish the task. Or will the evil sorcerer Magh be able to capture the magic of the remaining Unicorns. One of my favorite characters from the story were the Cussers. I have rated this well written fantasy a solid 5 stars and look forward to reading more by the author Sybrina Durant.
