Journey To Osm - The Blue Unicorn's Tale

Valerie Padrnos

This was a magical tale. The author was able to transport me to a new realm and I fell in love. There is a great deal of detail in this story that fully let's you imagine this other world vividly in your mind. I often felt like I was watching a movie while I was reading. I also loved the underdog tones throughout the book. Everyone wants to rally behind a hero that nobody believes in and thinks will fail. I often found myself reading late into the night, just to see what would unfold next and how everything was going to play out. In the end I was very satisfied and thrilled to have read the story. I feel the author did a marvelous job with character development and storyline. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Book Reviews for Journey To Osm Novel - By Victoria M

The Blue Unicorn's Journey To Osm - Reader Review

Victoria Maposa

Journey to Osm: The Blue Unicorn's Tale by Sybrina Durant is a magical fantasy story that is well written. The plot of the story begins when Miral gives birth to a unicorn with neither metal nor magic. Not only that, the baby unicorn is small and weak. This is after Alumna, the oracle, had received a vision that the baby unicorn would grow to be strong. What then, given his current stature, was he going to do if confronted with the worst Magh army?

I loved how the author built her characters and scenes gradually, pulling me in with each page. Also, the story is quite thrilling. It kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time. I can definitely see this being turned into a movie. Thank you Sybrina Durant for such a great read!

Book One: The Apprentice Adept

 By Piers Anthony

On the technological, decadent world of Proton, someone was trying to destroy Stile, serf and master Gamesman. His only escape lay through a mysterious “curtain” revealed by a loving robot.

Beyond the curtain lay Phaze—a world totally ruled by magic. There, his first encounter was with an amulet that turned into a demon determined to choke him to death. And there, he soon learned, his alternate self had already been murdered by sorcery, and he was due to be the next victim.

“Know thyself!” the infallible Oracle told him. But first he must save himself as he shuttled between worlds.

On Proton, his fate depended on winning the great Games.

On Phaze, he could survive only by mastering magic.

And if he used any magic at all, the werewolf and the unicorn who were his only friends were determined to kill him at once!

After tragedy upends her world, Jeannette Mason retreats to the tiny Oregon seaside town of Hope Harbor to create a new life. Vowing to avoid emotional attachments, she focuses on running her lavender farm and tea-room—until a new neighbor with a destructive dog and a forlorn little girl invades her turf. But she needn’t worry. Dr. Logan West is too busy coping with an unexpected family, a radical lifestyle change, and an unruly pup to have any interest in his aloof and disagreeable neighbor.

Yet when both Jeanette and Logan find themselves pulled into the life of a tattered Christian family fleeing persecution in war-torn Syria, might they discover that love sometimes comes calling when it’s least expected?

Bestselling and award-winning author Irene Hannon invites readers back to the charming seaside town of Hope Harbor, where they are sure to find peace, healing, and a second chance at happiness.

Interview with Toby the beagle!

Tell me a little about yourself, Toby.

I’m a one-year-old beagle—barely out of puppy stage—with lots of energy! I don’t remember my first owner very well. He didn’t keep me long. I’m not sure why. I think maybe he got tired of me barking in his ear every morning. But hey, he needed a wake-up call. Now I live in Hope Harbor with Logan and a little girl named Molly. We just moved here.

Tell me about your new home.

Hope Harbor is awesome! Much better than San Francisco. We live near a beach, and I love running on the sand. Next door there’s a cool garden with big plants that are easy to dig up. I brought one home for Logan the other day, but he didn’t seem to appreciate it. Neither did the lady next door.

Is Molly a good playmate?

Not yet. She’s kind of nervous around me, so I don’t jump on her too much or lick her. I think she’s about five, so she’s pretty little for a human. And she’s very sad. I’ve been doing my best to make her laugh, but so far I haven’t succeeded. But I’ll keep trying!

How do you like living with Logan and Molly?

Logan’s an okay guy, even if we don’t always get along. I mean, the trash can was right there the other night. How could I not explore it? But he didn’t like washing the floor—again. He’s real nice to Molly, though, and tries hard to be a good dad…even if he needs a lot of practice. Molly’s sweet, but too quiet. We need to fix that. And we will!

Besides running on the beach, what’s your favorite thing to do?

Bark and dig and play hide-and-seek with Logan. Unfortunately, he doesn’t like any of those things. I don’t think he’s used to having a dog around. But I’m working on him. One of these days I’ll have him trained!

Irene Hannon is the bestselling author of more than fifty novels, including One Perfect Spring, Hope Harbor, Sea Rose Lane, Sandpiper Cove, and Pelican Point, as well as Dangerous Illusions and the Private Justice and Men of Valor suspense series. Her books have been honored with three coveted RITA Awards from Romance Writers of America, and she is a member of that organization’s elite Hall of Fame. Her many other awards include National Readers’ Choice, Daphne du Maurier, Retailers’ Choice, Booksellers’ Best, Carols, and Reviewers’ Choice from RT Book Reviews magazine, which also honored her with a Career Achievement award for her entire body of work. In addition, she is a two-time Christy Award finalist.
